Description: March 3, 2011 —Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich joined officials in breaking ground on an 8.8 mile High Occupancy Vehicle Lane (HOV) project on the Interstate 5 Freeway between State Route-170 and North of Buena Vista Street in Burbank.
The total cost the project is $69.2 million and work is expected to be completed in December 2014.
Los Angeles County has 485 HOV lane miles or 34% of the total 1,410 HOV lane miles in the State of California.
